NATIONAL PEACE CORPS ASSOCIATION'S EDUCATION PROGRAM- a place where past and present U.S. government-sponsored exchange program participants find tools to advance their communities and our world. This is an excellent resource for any past participants to stay connected and informed about current global education news and trends. It also provides a solid base from which to reach out to other like minded, global educators and perhaps start interdisciplinary projects with your students. ASIA SOCIETY PARTNERSHIP FOR GLOBAL LEARNING- A great website that provides an introduction to global education for teachers new to the arena. It has information on policy, initiative & current affairs. It also offers a 15-month global competency certification program. It has a tab for afterschool and internship opportunities for your students as well. If you have students that are interested in a future in international business, education or affairs of any kind, this would be a useful site to encourage him/her to visit. PRIMARY SOURCE- A website full of information for K-12 educators offering new perspectives, collaborative discussions, and resources for promoting globally-minded classrooms. They have a dinner series for educators that want to participate in a fun, food filled global initiation. They offer online and face to face programs, curriculum resources and international study tours to enhance global understanding. GLOBAL SCHOOLNET- Their motto is linking kids around the world…their mission is to support 21st century, brain-friendly learning, and improve academic performance through content-driven collaboration. They have e-learning projects worldwide that cultivate interdisciplinary learning, foster communication skills and teamwork and help students understand civic responsibility. They also provide consulting services. This site is a great resource for connecting your kids to others around the world and perhaps starting communications for a future cross-continental project or learning series. PEACE CORPS WORLD WISE SCHOOLS- dedicated to promoting 21st century global learning through stories, activities, and classroom resources – all of which are based on Peace Corps Volunteer experiences. GLOBAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE- The Global Education Conference Network is a collaborative, inclusive, world-wide community initiative involving students, educators, and organizations at all levels. Our activities are designed to significantly increase opportunities for connecting classrooms while supporting cultural awareness and recognition of diversity and educational access for all. They offer weeklong, online global education conferences. |
